EcoAmbassadeurs presents :

Racism, Equity and Anti-racism in the education system

Black History Month in Canada is a unique opportunity to pay tribute to individuals of African descent, who through their dynamism and accomplishments have reflected the spirit of our time. Now is also the time to shed light on the current social and economic conditions of Black people in Canada.

With this in mind, EcoAmbassadeurs organized a series of 3 virtual conferences, from February 27 to March 6, 2021, on racism, equity and anti-racism present in the Ontario education system.

1st Panel Discussion

Historical perspective, current assessment and future projections

February 27, 2021 I 1 PM – 2:30 PM

Professionals and members of the school community shared their points of view with us and tried to find concrete solutions to fight against the systemic barriers faced by young people in the education system.

2nd Panel discussion

Meeting with youth

March 3rd, 2021 I 7 PM – 8:30 PM

Youth and students shared their experiences and points of view on the measures that one can take to fight effectively against racism and discrimination in the Ontario education system.

3RD Panel discussion

Parents' Perspective

March 6,  2021 I 1PM – 2:30 PM

During this panel, parents shared their perspectives on structural changes that need to be implemented in educational institutions, in order to tackle the racism and discrimination their children may encounter.
