Tackling systemic barriers to employment

EcoAmbassadeurs is committed to setting up an awareness campaign within companies in the Finance, Insurance, Technology and Retail sectors in order to raise awareness of the obstacles encountered by racialized people during the process. hiring. Simultaneously, the organization will work with hiring managers in these sectors to find solutions to systematic barriers to employment. The project will be implemented until March 31, 2022.

Activities Description

Distributing newsletters to at least 100 employers in Finance, Insurance, Technology and Retail to raise awareness of the systematic barriers to employment faced by racialized people. The newsletter will also be available on Facebook and Twitter in support of the campaign.
Three workshops will be organized to train 75 recruiting managers in these sectors. The training will show the hidden face of discrimination in employment and how to tackle it.
Three workshops will be organized for approximately 50 people from racialized communities to train them to overcome barriers to employment, entrepreneurship and civic engagement.

Expected results

  • Improve its ability to tackle systemic barriers to employment;
  • Increase the resources, programs, campaigns and services that respond to employment challenges;
  • Increase the participation of indigenous peoples, racialized communities and religious minorities in projects that address barriers to employment;
  • Increase the number of racialized people in the companies participating in the project;
  • Train 45 racialized Francophones of diverse origins and cultures in sound governance, job search and business creation.
